No-Drill Euro Plate Holder + Two New Holden Legend Signs
Michael's 3D WorldTwo new things went up on the store this week: a practical one for anyone running Euro plates, and a pair of Holden signs for the shed. Here's what each one actually does.
A Euro plate holder that never touches the plate
Fitting a 520 × 112 mm Euro plate to an Australian car usually ends one of two ways: self-tappers straight through the face, or a bracket that rattles. Neither is great, and both are hard to undo if you ever sell the car or hand the plates back.
The No-Drill Euro Plate Holder does it differently. Each holder is a printed tray that clamps the plate between itself and a snap-on bezel, so the plate keeps its face and its mounting holes untouched — no drilling, no screws through the front, nothing visible from the outside.
How it goes together
The tray splits into left and right halves that lock together with two bow-tie seam keys, then screws to your car using its existing two M6 plate threads, 210 mm apart. The plate drops into the pocket and rests on the bottom wall, the left and right bezels press on from the front, and eight M3 lock screws (four underneath, four along the top edge) hold it all closed. There are drainage notches in the bottom so water doesn't pool behind the plate.
Sold as a pair — front and rear
This is worth saying plainly, because it wasn't clear enough on the listing at first: you get two complete holders, one for each end of the car. That's four print plates and roughly 16 hours of printing in ASA. If you only need one, message us before ordering and we'll sort out a single-price option.
The specs that matter
- Overall size per holder: 535 × 124 × 12.1 mm; plate pocket 524 × 112.6 mm
- Fits standard 520 × 112 mm Euro plates — NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS, NT and ACT
- ASA, not PLA: UV-stable, weather-resistant, 4 walls and 25% gyroid infill, handles 60–70 °C panel heat
- 16 × M3×12 pan-head screws included (8 per holder). The 4 × M6 countersunk screws are not included — length varies by vehicle
- Made to order in Australia, ships in 7–10 business days — $159 the pair
Worth checking your plate actually measures 520 × 112 mm before you order — some state-issued "Euro" plates are a few millimetres off and that's the one thing that will catch you out.
Two new Holden signs for the shed
Both are $30, both are USB powered with a 1.2 m cable and inline switch, and both are made to order here in Australia.
HDT Commodore V8 — Bathurst '82 '83 '84 is the three-in-a-row tribute: the laurel wreath, the "1st BATHURST '82 '83 '84" lettering and the red HDT mark, cut in white over deep HDT blue and edge-lit so the lettering glows rather than the background washing out. It stands on its own weighted plinth, so no wall fixing — it ends up on a desk or shelf where people can pick it up. About 18 × 24 × 5 cm.
Holden Group A — Peter Brock Signature is the square one: the striped Group A mark and Brock's signature in white on deep blue. At 24 × 24 × 5 cm the square format gives it more presence than a wide badge, which makes it easier to hang on its own or sit next to a shelf of memorabilia. Lit up with the room lights down, the stripes read like the flank of a race car.
Both live in the Holden collection, alongside the rest of the cars and motor sport signs.
Need something that isn't on the shelf
Most of what we make starts as someone's photo, logo or half-formed idea. If you want a plate holder for a different size, a sign for a car that isn't Holden, or something for a shed wall that doesn't exist yet, read how custom orders work and then send us the details. We'll tell you honestly whether it's a good fit for printing.
Shipping is free within Australia over $75, and international orders over $200 in most regions — the Euro plate holder clears that on its own.
